The LAFMIA maintains collaboration with UMRs established in France for encouraging the synergy of its scientific actions with those promoted in France. Currently in the area of Computer Science, it maintains a close and active collaboration with the Laboratory of Informatics of Grenoble (LIG UMR 5217) through the following actions:
- Common actions with Europe and Asia through European Projects and with Latin America through regional and national programs (e.g., LACCIR, STIC-AMSUD, CAPES). These actions encourage joint research on data management in next generation networks; cloud computing, and big data processing.
- Co-direction of PhD students with shared financial support by both labs.
- Postdoctoral positions and scientists’ visits assigned to LiG groups.
- Financial support to PhD students and LIG scientists cooperating with the LAFMIA for attending schools and conference that concern joint research work.
